WELDING TIG & MIG

CWB Certified TIG & MIG Welding Services

Official CWB certification, ensuring Graphie’s compliance with high-standard industrial welding requirements.

While advanced laser technologies continue to evolve, TIG and MIG welding remain the backbone of versatile industrial fabrication. Graphie provides comprehensive CWB-certified TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding services, combining skilled craftsmanship with rigorous process control.

Located in La Pocatière, Quebec, and serving customers across Canada and the United States, Graphie operates as a reliable manufacturing partner within the North American supply chain. We deliver welded sub-assemblies, structural components, and precision enclosures to manufacturers in the transportation, energy, and industrial equipment sectors.

Our welding operations are not structured as a repair shop environment. They are designed as a controlled manufacturing process where welding is treated as a repeatable, engineered operation. We specialize in material thicknesses ranging from 0.032 inches to 0.25 inches, covering the majority of requirements for electrical cabinets, vehicle components, brackets, and complex sheet metal assemblies.

Rely on our CWB W47.1 certified processes and welders for structural integrity in Stainless, Aluminum, and Carbon Steel. We handle material thicknesses from 0.032″ to 0.500″ with strict positioning tolerances of ±0.015″

In regulated industries such as transportation, electrical distribution, and energy systems, welding quality is non-negotiable. Graphie is fully CWB Certified (Canadian Welding Bureau), a designation that governs both our procedures and our execution.

  • Qualified Personnel: Our welders are certified professionals whose skills are regularly tested and revalidated under CWB requirements.

  • Controlled Welding Procedures: Every weld procedure is documented and standardized. Machine parameters, filler materials, shielding gases, and joint designs are all defined to ensure consistent weld quality across production runs.

  • Supply Chain Risk Reduction: For OEMs and system integrators, working with a CWB-certified manufacturer reduces compliance risk and ensures welded components meet the applicable codes and standards of the end market.

TIG Welding (GTAW):
Precision, Control, and Aesthetics

TIG welding is our preferred process for applications requiring high precision, clean aesthetics, or controlled heat input on thin-gauge and non-ferrous materials.

  • Aluminum Welding Expertise: Aluminum is widely used in transportation and mobile equipment due to its strength-to-weight ratio. Our welders are highly experienced in producing clean, ripple-free TIG welds on aluminum sheets down to 0.032 inches, minimizing distortion and burn-through.

  • High-Finish Stainless Steel: For corrosion-resistant and visually exposed components; such as exterior panels, control boxes, and weather-exposed housings; TIG welding delivers smooth, non-porous joints that require minimal secondary finishing.

  • Complex Geometries: TIG welding allows precise control in tight corners and complex 3D geometries where automated systems are not feasible.

MIG Welding (GMAW):
Speed, Efficiency, and Versatility

For applications where productivity and deposition rate are critical, Graphie’s MIG welding services provide an efficient and reliable solution. We utilize advanced pulse-MIG technology, enabling better heat control and reduced spatter compared to conventional MIG systems.

  • Efficiency for Recurring Series: MIG welding is well suited for steel brackets, internal mounting plates, and higher-volume enclosures where cycle time directly impacts unit cost.

  • Material Versatility: While capable of welding materials up to 0.25 inches thick, our MIG setup is optimized for sheet metal assemblies. We seamlessly transition between 16-gauge steel cabinets and 1/4-inch aluminum structural supports within the same production environment.

Integrated Assembly, Fixturing and Dimensional Control

A high-quality weld starts long before the arc is struck. As a vertically integrated manufacturer, Graphie designs and fabricates custom welding jigs and fixtures using our in-house laser cutting and machining capabilities.

  • Repeatability: Dedicated fixtures ensure every part is positioned identically, supporting consistent results across batches of 100, 1,000 units, or more.

  • Dimensional Accuracy: We maintain a welding positioning tolerance of ± 0.020 inches. By mechanically restraining parts during the thermal cycle, we counteract weld-induced distortion and ensure assemblies fit precisely into the customer’s larger system.
