How does Metalphoto compare to etched stainless steel?
Both are extremely durable. However, Metalphoto (anodized aluminum) is significantly lighter than stainless steel and offers superior contrast (black on silver) for barcodes and detailed graphics. It is often the preferred choice for weight-sensitive applications in the transport sector.
Can Metalphoto fail outdoors?
Metalphoto is rated for 20+ years of outdoor exposure. Because the image is inorganic silver metal sealed inside the anodized layer, it does not fade or chalk like organic inks or paints do when exposed to sunlight.
Is it available in different thicknesses?
Yes. We process Metalphoto ranging from thin foils (0.003") for curved surface labels up to rigid plates (0.125") that can serve as structural control panels.
