Can you install fasteners into stainless steel?
Yes, with specific technical considerations. Standard self-clinching fasteners may not be hard enough for stainless steel. We use hardened fasteners designed for stainless alloys, and our engineering team ensures compatibility with the specific grade (304 or 316).
What is the difference between clinching and spot-welding a nut?
Clinching is cleaner, faster, and more energy-efficient. It produces no fumes, sparks, or weld spatter that could damage threads. For most precision sheet metal parts under 1/4" thick - especially electronic enclosures - clinching is preferred for its reliability and aesthetics. Welding is generally reserved for thick structural plates where clinching is not feasible.
Do you verify fasteners after installation?
Absolutely. Quality control includes visual inspection of seating depth, random push-out testing, and thread verification using Go/No-Go gauges. For parts moving to powder coating, masking protocols are applied to keep threads paint-free and fully functional.
