Does embossing affect the back of the part?
Yes. Embossing creates a raised surface on one side (readable) and a corresponding depression (deboss) on the reverse side. If the back of the panel must remain perfectly flat for mounting, we may recommend Engraving or Etching instead.
Can you emboss variable data (like serial numbers)?
Traditional die embossing uses a fixed mold (ideal for logos). For sequential serial numbers, we use a different process called "rotary stamping" or laser engraving. Die embossing is best suited for the fixed elements of your design (Brand Name, Model, Safety Warning).
Is there a tooling cost?
Yes. Since this is a mechanical molding process, custom dies must be machined for your specific logo or design. This is a one-time tooling fee, making the process most cost-effective for recurring production runs.
