Which welding process is better for aluminum, TIG or MIG?
It depends on the application. TIG welding is generally preferred for thinner aluminum (under 1/8") or where aesthetics and precision are critical. MIG welding is well suited for thicker sections or higher-volume production where speed and efficiency are priorities. Graphie offers both processes and recommends the optimal solution based on part geometry and production requirements.
Do you weld very thin materials?
Yes. We routinely weld materials as thin as 0.032 inches (approximately 20–22 gauge). Welding at this thickness requires specialized techniques, controlled heat input, and precise fixturing to prevent warping or melt-through.
How do you ensure dimensional accuracy after welding?
Welding inherently introduces thermal stress. We mitigate this through robust, purpose-built fixtures that restrain the part during welding. Critical dimensions are then verified by our quality team against engineering drawings to ensure assemblies meet the ± 0.020" tolerance before moving to finishing or assembly.
